ABOUT THE COUNSELLOR
Hello! I am Peter Tin
Originally from Mauritius and now based in Melbourne, I understand what it can feel like to navigate identity, cultural expectations, and the challenge of finding your own voice. Now in my early 40s, I have come to appreciate how complex life can be as we move through grief, relationship difficulties, questions of identity, and the search for meaning and purpose. My own experiences of loss, self-discovery, and personal growth have shaped my belief that meaningful change happens when we are given the space to be heard, understood, and accepted as we are.
I hold a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults who want to better understand themselves, work through difficult emotions, and build healthier relationships.
My approach is warm, reflective, and grounded in genuine human connection. I work in an integrative and eclectic way, drawing on Gestalt Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Somatic Experiencing to help clients explore their thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and relational patterns. I believe healing happens when you feel safe enough to speak openly about what is happening inside, without fear of judgment.
Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and make sense of your experiences with greater clarity and self-compassion.
Whether you are facing anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, or questions about identity and purpose, I provide a supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself and move toward a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned with who you truly are.
