ABOUT THE COUNSELLOR
Hello! I am Peter Tin
Originally from Mauritius and now based in Melbourne, I understand what it can feel like to navigate cultural expectations, questions of identity, and the challenge of finding your own voice. As I’ve moved through adulthood, I have come to appreciate how complex life can be as we encounter grief, relationship difficulties, change, and questions about meaning and purpose.
My own experiences of loss, self-discovery, and personal growth have shaped my belief that meaningful change can happen when we are given the space to feel heard, understood, and accepted as we are.
I hold a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and am a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I work with adults who want to better understand themselves, work through difficult emotions, and develop healthier relationships. My practice is guided by the ACA Code of Ethics and professional standards.
My approach is warm, reflective, and grounded in genuine human connection. I work integratively, drawing on Gestalt Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and somatic approaches to help clients explore their thoughts, emotions, bodily experiences, and relational patterns.
I believe therapy can offer a space where you feel safe enough to speak openly about what is happening within you, without fear of judgement. Together, we can explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and make sense of your experiences with greater clarity, awareness, and self-compassion.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, or questions about identity and purpose, I offer a supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself and move towards a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned with who you are.
