Self Identity and Expression Counselling: Coming Home to Yourself

Who am I really?
It is a question many of us quietly carry, often beneath layers of expectation, responsibility, and survival.

At Speaking Self, I see identity not as something fixed but as something we grow into through awareness, courage, and self acceptance. Counselling can help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been silenced, hidden, or shaped by the voices of others.


Understanding Self Identity

Our sense of self forms over time through family, culture, relationships, and experiences. For some, these influences provide grounding and belonging. For others, they can create disconnection or confusion, especially when the self we show the world feels different from the one we truly are.

When life changes through migration, loss, relationships, or personal growth, it is natural to question who we are and what we stand for. Counselling offers a safe and reflective space to explore these questions without judgement or pressure.


The Importance of Self Expression

Expression is not just about speaking. It is about being seen, felt, and understood.
When we suppress what we feel or who we are, we begin to lose touch with our authenticity. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, emptiness, or a sense of living life on autopilot.
